Jost's countryside adventures

When I looked at the list of participants for the ‘Co-Creating Community Spaces’ workshop I was going to facilitate in October 2025 in Megalopoli, I was super-excited to see Jost’s name on the list! I first met Jost in another workshop I facilitated in 2021 in Evia, Greece, where we connected and formed a family bond. I guess this bond was strengthened by the fact that we had so much fun collaborating on a music video I produced with one of my rhymes ‘If you see the possibility it’s your response-ability’.

I just remember sensing that this young man is unique. Now, years later and after spending more time together, I know why. An inherent sense of calm and adventure permeates this young man. He navigates life with deep awareness, trust and humour, all stemming from his love for life. He lives in a world where everything is possible, where failure doesn’t exist because so-called ‘failures’ simply lead you to life’s lessons.

During the workshop, we had a no-talent show. While I had no expectations, when I saw Jost get up to perform his act, I was surprised to see that instead of beatboxing, he did a magical comedy act. We all laughed so hard! Later I found out that he had no plan, he just improvised! What a reflection of his larger worldview!!

Jost had selected to stay in a tent during the workshop, because just like me, he needs to sleep alone to sleep well, but he had underestimated the humidity of Megalopoli, so he was freezing. I offered my caravan for him to sleep in, so it was easy to spend some time together on our free day. After showing Jost my favourite place in the area, a little river with running springs, full of massive rocks under a canopy of Platanus trees, , we gathered water to drink and we ended up in the oak forest near my place.

As we sat down, I asked him if he would be up for recording our conversation about moving to the countryside.’What here?, he asked. ‘Yep, here with my mobile phone, it should only take about half an hour.’ I said. ‘And then we’re done, it’s over?’. ‘Yep’, I said and I started recording.

It’s funny to note that the conversation started slowly, rising in energy as he tuned into how much he enjoyed the synchronicities that led him to meeting his partner, having a beautiful baby girl and moving to Mitusu farm in Spain. Having limited finances never translated to having limited resources – he always found a way to meet his and his family’s needs, even if it meant getting his ideal job without speaking the language!! His ideal job may surprise you, because again, it wasn’t about money, it was about managing his resources correctly. This job gave him resources in terms of money and materials and time to work on his own project. I can’t wait for him to embark on his beatboxing journey. I highly recommend that he combines beatboxing with comedy. Whatever it is, I’m sure it will move us in the direction of our highest good!

Jost’s story is sure to inspire you whether you are contemplating a move to the countryside and are wondering where to start or wanting to make any big change in your life. You will cultivate a knowing that things have no choice but to work out for you if you keep an open and positive attitude and are willing to become all you need in order to make it work. Just repeat: “Everything’s always working out for me”.

Since this podcast, Jost informed me that he settled on
Jos7ech (7 is a t) as his artistic beatboxing name, so I look forward to him finding his flow in his music-making adventure as well. In  the meantime,  you can follow his countryside adventures here:
